I wonder who was the first to realize that the more things change the more they stay the same? The other day talking to my staff I made the comment about Goth kids and how they haven't evolved since my time. Who would of thought The Smiths, The Cure or anyof the number of new wave artist would still be relevant today.
Granted these bands where the outcast of the industry, even in their heyday it wasn't the cool kids music. Heck Hip Hop has had that honor since Run DMC remade Walk this Way.
Even the biggest difference is just an evolution, on line fan sites which back in my day would have been a fanzine, and instead of linking to an MP3 my buddy would give me a copy of a tape made from a copy of another tape...
This little blurb came about when I looked at the people following my play list in a certain music site.

Using one of my sick days for Jasmine who has a slight fever. Well while she sleeps I'm listening to M.I.A paper plane a very cool song. BTW GQ mag October edition is one of their best in a long time, besides Megan Fox it has some very cool articles on the West Village and tips for gents.
BTW can't wait to lose another 10 pounds so that I can wear a bowtie and not look like a republican ;)
